WELCOME SPRING!! Aka; warmer weather, better skin, sun dresses, new growth, and everything else good. It always makes me happy to be one step closer to summer.
My sweet friend Lexi and I went on a little picnic to commemorate the beginning of this new season, both physically and mentally. I'm oh so grateful to have a person like her to do life with. She embodies every bit of a strong woman, a kind person, and a true friend.
We thought we'd give you guys a bit of insight into our picnic!
Everything from the style...
The constant laughter...
And of course, the food!
Lexi is a vegan and I'm still trying to be more creative with my recipes, but for now we went with light snacks since we both had dinner plans!
I incorporated tons of fruits and veggies-- my absolute favorites. We had hummus with pita, red bell peppers, rainbow carrots, baby cucumbers, and enjoyed a ton of mango and berries for dessert.
I haven't been to France yet, but I pulled a bit of inspiration from their style, food, and simplicity. I tend to "over-do" things, and we had a ton of fun with the ease of our picnic.
Except for these little mocktails... these are most definitely "over-doing" it. But how could you resist? It's so easy to make too, just a desired amount of Trader Joe's sparkling pink lemonade mixed with a lemon slice and your fruit of choice. Also the perfect base if you want to kick it up a knotch for the weekend: Just add vodka.
We hope you enjoyed our picnic as much as we did. As the weather gets nicer and sunnier, more outdoor fun and ways to include nature in your days will be coming your way!
If you want to jam to our picnic playlist, it celebrates all good spring things, so it's worth the listen!
