This past summer I spent a month loving on the Haitian people. I am enamored with their grace and persistence as a culture. I love to watch the children I've come to know through the school and orphanage grow and mature over the years.
Here's some highlights from my month stay in my favorite place...
They really get a kick out of playing "hairdresser".
Beach days are the best days and NOTHING compares to those coconuts.
The retirement home has to be the most unique, heartwarming thing about the foundation I stay with down there, Mission of Grace. The older Haitians are often forgotten about, but in this home of grace, they are no longer neglected, but brought to a place of peace and honor.
The bumpiest two-hour ride ever.
I encourage everyone to take a bit of time to check out Mission of Grace and their cause. They care deeply about every soul, are intentional, and love so well. Check out my "Philanthropy" page or click the GIVE button below for more information on this cause that has my heart completely wrapped up.
Also, if anyone reading has any non-profit organizations they're passionate about and would like to share with me, hearing others' passions and excitement is my favorite thing. I'd love to hear about how you get involved, where are some good places to give, or any new foundations that have been exciting you lately. Reach out through social media, the comments on this post (because I will read them), or email me. Don't be shy!
